Solar Batteries

The Sigenergy 9kW SigenStor Battery with LED (BAT 10.0) is a modular storage block built around large format cells and a low voltage design, which is a deliberate safety choice as much as a performance one. It holds 9.04kWh of energy with 8.76kWh usable, and because it runs a true 100% depth of discharge you actually get to use what you paid for rather than leaving a reserve stranded at the bottom of the pack.

The cells are rated at 314Ah for 10,000 cycles, so on a normal household cycle-a-day pattern this is a battery measured in decades, not years, and the 0.5C charge and discharge rating means it can take a solid load of surplus solar during the day and give it back through the evening peak without straining. Multi-layer battery safety protection runs across cell, module and system level, an IP66 rating means it handles dust and weather wherever it is mounted, and an in-built heater element keeps performance stable through cold snaps, which matters more in the NSW tablelands and inland than most brochures admit. Behind it all sits a 10-year warranty.
